Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated Telangana is experiencing rapid development across all sectors and appealed for continued public support to maintain this momentum. Addressing a public meeting in Mahabubnagar district, he highlighted significant improvements in irrigation, agriculture, and infrastructure since the state’s formation.
He specifically pointed to the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project, a long-pending initiative, as a testament to his government’s commitment to fulfilling promises. The project will provide irrigation to over 9 lakh acres, transforming the drought-prone Mahabubnagar region into a fertile agricultural area. He also mentioned the government’s focus on providing 24-hour free electricity to farmers, aiming to boost agricultural productivity.
Reddy criticized the previous BRS government for allegedly prioritizing projects that benefited only a select few, while neglecting the needs of the common people. He asserted his government is dedicated to inclusive development, ensuring benefits reach all sections of society. He emphasized the importance of social justice and announced plans to implement various welfare schemes targeting marginalized communities.
The Chief Minister announced the government’s intention to establish a turmeric board to support turmeric farmers in the region, recognizing the crop’s economic significance. He also promised to address issues related to podu lands (forest lands traditionally cultivated by tribal communities) and provide land ownership rights to eligible beneficiaries.
Reddy urged people to actively participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the need for a strong representation from Telangana at the Centre to advocate for the state’s interests. He called for electing Congress candidates to ensure the continuation of development programs and the realization of the state’s aspirations. He reiterated his government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in governance.
