The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) cleared investment proposals totaling over ₹2 lakh crore, expected to generate approximately 63,780 jobs.
Key approvals include:
* **Renewable Energy:** Adani Green Energy’s proposals for two wind power projects (750 MW & 200 MW) in Alluru district, totaling ₹2,640 crore. Greenko Group received approval for a 1,000 MW integrated renewable energy project with a storage capacity of 2,500 MWh in Vizianagaram district, costing ₹8,200 crore.
* **Manufacturing:** Reliance Industries Limited secured approval for establishing a polysilicon manufacturing unit in Tirupati with an investment of ₹58,889 crore, creating 3,420 jobs. This project focuses on solar panel component production. Also approved was a unit by Auro Mira Energy Trading Private Limited for manufacturing solar cells and modules, investing ₹3,680 crore and employing 1,750 people.
* **Infrastructure & Cement:** JSW Cement received the green light for a 4 MTPA integrated cement plant in Nandyal, YSR Kadapa district, with an investment of ₹3,350 crore, promising 1,800 jobs. Additionally, approvals were granted for data center projects by NTT Global Data Centers and Darwin Data Centre Private Limited, totaling ₹1,820 crore and creating 600 jobs.
* **Tourism & Hospitality:** Approvals were given for hotel and resort projects, including a Radisson Resort in Visakhapatnam and a Lulu Mall-cum-hotel complex, contributing to tourism infrastructure.
* **Other Sectors:** Several proposals across sectors like pharmaceuticals, agro-processing, and logistics also received clearances.
The government highlighted that these investments demonstrate Andhra Pradesh’s growing attractiveness as an investment destination. The focus is on promoting sustainable industrial development and creating employment opportunities. The SIPB meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. These projects are anticipated to significantly boost the state’s economy and industrial output.
