Bandi Sanjay’s son, Bandi Aryan, has been accused in a Pocso case following a complaint by a minor girl in Hyderabad. The complaint alleges wrongful confinement, outraging modesty, and sexual harassment.
The incident reportedly occurred on March 23rd at Sanjay’s residence in Karimnagar. The girl, along with a friend, visited the house, and the complainant alleges inappropriate behavior by Aryan.
Following the complaint filed at the Karimnagar Two Town Police Station, a case was registered under relevant sections of the Pocso Act and the Indian Penal Code. Police initiated an investigation, recording statements from the complainant, her friend, and Aryan.
Aryan was subsequently arrested and remanded to judicial custody. His counsel argued for bail, claiming the allegations were false and motivated by political rivalry. They presented evidence suggesting the girl had a prior relationship with Aryan and that the complaint was filed due to a disagreement.
The prosecution opposed the bail petition, citing the seriousness of the offenses and the potential for influencing witnesses. The Karimnagar Court initially dismissed Aryan’s bail plea. However, the High Court of Telangana later granted him conditional bail, directing him to appear before the investigating officer regularly and not to leave the country without permission.
Bandi Sanjay, the state BJP president, has vehemently denied the allegations, claiming a conspiracy against his family. He asserted his son’s innocence and accused the state government of political vendetta. The BJP has rallied in support of Sanjay and his son, alleging a fabricated case.
The case has sparked political controversy, with the ruling BRS party demanding a thorough investigation and the BJP accusing the government of using the police to target political opponents.
