Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the full utilization of central funds allocated to the state, addressing officials during a review meeting on the implementation of central schemes. He expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of fund utilization across various departments and urged officials to accelerate the process to ensure benefits reach eligible beneficiaries.
Naidu directed officials to prioritize schemes related to housing, education, and welfare, highlighting their importance for the socio-economic development of the state. He specifically focused on the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) – Housing for All, demanding a swift completion of housing projects and efficient disbursement of funds to beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister instructed departments to submit detailed reports on the status of each central scheme, including the funds received, funds utilized, and the number of beneficiaries covered. He stressed the need for regular monitoring and timely corrective measures to address any bottlenecks hindering implementation.
Naidu also called for better coordination between state and central government agencies to streamline the implementation process and avoid delays. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the utilization of funds, warning against any misuse or irregularities.
He further directed officials to conduct field-level inspections to assess the impact of central schemes and gather feedback from beneficiaries. This feedback, he said, would help in improving the effectiveness of the schemes and addressing any grievances.
The review meeting covered schemes under various ministries, including Rural Development, Housing, Education, and Social Welfare. Naidu reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Andhra Pradesh receives its due share of central funds and that these funds are utilized effectively for the benefit of the people. He aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading state in the country in terms of the implementation of central schemes.
