A massive security arrangement is in place at Parade Ground in Secunderabad for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public meeting on March 4th, 2024. Over 2,000 police personnel have been deployed, supported by specialized teams including Octopus (anti-sabotage), bomb disposal squads, and counter-intelligence units.
Security layers include road closures, traffic diversions, and a multi-layered security cordon around the venue. Sniper teams have been strategically positioned on high-rise buildings surrounding the Parade Ground. 150 CCTV cameras, including dome and PTZ cameras, are monitoring the entire area, with live feeds analyzed at a command control center.
Drone surveillance is also being utilized to monitor crowd movement and identify any suspicious activity. The Special Protection Group (SPG) is overseeing the overall security arrangements in close coordination with local police and intelligence agencies.
Entry to the venue is regulated with thorough screening of attendees using metal detectors and baggage scanners. Anti-drone technology is deployed to prevent unauthorized drone activity. Parking restrictions are in effect in the vicinity, and attendees are advised to use public transport.
Police are conducting vehicle checks and verifying the credentials of individuals entering the area. A quick response team is on standby to address any unforeseen incidents. The security plan also incorporates measures to manage crowd control and ensure smooth entry and exit for attendees.
Intelligence inputs are being continuously monitored to assess potential threats and adjust security measures accordingly. The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner has emphasized a zero-tolerance approach to any security breaches. The aim is to ensure a safe and secure environment for the Prime Minister’s visit and the public attending the meeting.
