Nida Khan, a key accused in the alleged data theft case involving Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Nashik, has been arrested in Maharashtra. She was apprehended from a location within the state, though the exact place remains undisclosed by police.
The case revolves around the alleged illegal access and leakage of confidential data from TCS’s Nashik client, a leading financial institution. Nida Khan, a former TCS employee, is accused of playing a central role in the conspiracy, allegedly sharing sensitive information with her husband, Sanjeev Khan, who is also a key suspect and remains at large.
Police investigations suggest Nida Khan misused her access privileges while working at TCS to obtain confidential client data. This data was then allegedly passed on to Sanjeev Khan, who is suspected of using it for financial gain. The financial institution impacted by the data breach estimates losses exceeding ₹90 crore.
The Nashik Cyber Police initiated the investigation following a complaint filed by TCS. They have already arrested several individuals connected to the case, including former TCS employees and others allegedly involved in the data leakage and its subsequent misuse.
Authorities believe Sanjeev Khan is the main orchestrator of the scheme and are actively pursuing his arrest. A reward of ₹5 lakh has been announced for information leading to his capture.
The police are focusing on tracing the financial transactions linked to the stolen data to ascertain the full extent of the financial damage and identify all individuals involved. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining digital evidence and questioning individuals to unravel the complete network behind the data theft. The arrest of Nida Khan is considered a significant breakthrough in the case, but the police emphasize the importance of apprehending Sanjeev Khan to fully resolve the matter.
