Release of Class 12 Board exam results in Tamil Nadu postponed amid government formation

## Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Exam Results – Summary

The Tamil Nadu Class 12 board exam results have been delayed due to the formation of a new government following the recent Lok Sabha elections. Results were initially expected in early June, but are now postponed.

Approximately 8.5 lakh students appeared for the exams conducted in March and April 2024. The delay is attributed to the need for a new government to establish and approve the necessary procedures for result declaration. Typically, the School Education Department finalizes the results and submits them to the government for approval before public release.

The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) Tamil Nadu is responsible for conducting the exams and publishing the results. Students can access their results through official websites: dge.tn.gov.in and tnresults.nic.in.

Last year, 2023, the results were announced on August 8th, with a pass percentage of 91.45%. A total of 8,02,452 students passed out of 8,76,532 who appeared.

This year, concerns exist regarding potential discrepancies in valuation, leading to demands for re-evaluation. The new government is expected to address these concerns and ensure a smooth and transparent result publication process.

The delay impacts students planning for higher education, as admission processes for colleges and universities rely on the Class 12 results. Authorities have not yet announced a revised date for the result announcement, creating uncertainty for students and parents. The DGE has assured that the results will be released as soon as the new government is in place and the necessary approvals are obtained.
