## West Bengal Election Results – Summary
Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister, firmly stated she will not resign following the recent Lok Sabha election results. She asserts the ruling All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) did not lose the election, but the BJP gained through manipulation of central agencies.
TMC secured 29 seats, a significant increase from its 2019 count of 22. The BJP won 28 seats, a decline from their previous 18. Congress and Left Front parties each secured one seat.
Banerjee attributes the BJP’s success to alleged misuse of central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). She claims these agencies were used to intimidate voters and influence the election outcome.
She highlighted the TMC’s vote share increased by 5% while the BJP’s decreased, indicating a shift in public support towards her party. She specifically pointed to the performance in North Bengal, where the BJP made gains, as an area impacted by alleged central agency interference.
Banerjee announced a review of the election results district-wise to identify areas for improvement and understand the reasons behind the outcome. She plans to reorganize the party at the booth level.
She criticized the Election Commission for allegedly favoring the BJP and expressed concerns about the integrity of the EVM machines, though she did not call for a complete rejection of the results.
The TMC is forming a new government in West Bengal, with Banerjee set to continue as Chief Minister. She emphasized the government will continue its pro-people policies and focus on development.
Banerjee also addressed the issue of newly elected MP Mahua Moitra, stating the party will investigate allegations against her and take appropriate action. She reiterated her commitment to fighting against the BJP and protecting the secular fabric of the country.
