Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, campaigning in various constituencies, emphasized the continuation of existing Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government schemes if re-elected. He highlighted the impact of initiatives like the *Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam* (women’s rights scheme) providing monthly financial assistance to women, and the *Mudalmagalir Thittam* (first graduate scheme) supporting women’s higher education.
Stalin criticized the AIADMK and BJP, alleging they spread misinformation about the schemes and attempted to halt their implementation. He asserted the DMK government successfully overcame obstacles to deliver on its promises, particularly the *Magalir Urimai Thittam*, despite initial challenges.
He accused the BJP of attempting to destabilize the state government through actions like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids and Governor R.N. Ravi’s actions. Stalin claimed these were attempts to divert attention from the failures of the central government. He specifically mentioned the Governor returning bills passed by the state assembly, alleging anti-Tamil bias.
The Chief Minister reiterated the DMK’s commitment to social justice, secularism, and federalism. He promised continued focus on improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare. He also pledged to address the concerns of farmers and ensure fair prices for their produce.
Stalin targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, questioning the fulfillment of promises made to Tamil Nadu, such as the establishment of an AIIMS in Madurai and the release of funds for flood relief. He accused the central government of neglecting Tamil Nadu and favoring other states.
He urged voters to reject the AIADMK-BJP alliance and support the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance to ensure the continuation of welfare schemes and the protection of Tamil Nadu’s interests. He presented the election as a choice between a government dedicated to social justice and one aligned with divisive forces.
