Chandrababu Naidu directs officials to clear e-files within 24 hours, push digital governance

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed state officials to clear all e-files within 24 hours, emphasizing a strong push for digital governance and efficient administration. This directive aims to expedite decision-making and improve the overall responsiveness of the government.

Naidu highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to enhance transparency and accountability in governance. He stressed that delays in file clearances hinder development projects and public service delivery. The 24-hour clearance timeline applies to all departments, and officials are expected to prioritize digital file processing.

The Chief Minister reviewed the ‘Dashboards’ system, designed to monitor the progress of file clearances in real-time. This system provides a centralized view of pending files and allows for quick identification of bottlenecks. He expressed satisfaction with the initial progress but urged officials to accelerate the adoption of digital workflows.

Naidu also directed officials to integrate various government departments and databases to create a seamless flow of information. This integration will reduce redundancy, minimize paperwork, and improve data accuracy. He emphasized the need for regular training programs to equip government employees with the necessary skills to effectively utilize digital tools.

The initiative is part of Naidu’s broader vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a digitally empowered state. He believes that digital governance will not only improve efficiency but also foster innovation and attract investment. The government plans to expand the use of e-governance platforms to cover a wider range of public services, making them more accessible to citizens.

Furthermore, Naidu instructed officials to ensure that all government communications and transactions are conducted digitally, reducing reliance on traditional paper-based methods. He also emphasized the importance of data security and privacy, directing officials to implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information. The goal is to create a citizen-centric administration that is responsive, transparent, and efficient.
