Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab, alleging it has deteriorated the state’s situation to a level worse than that previously seen in West Bengal. He focused on the rise in crime, particularly organized crime and drug trafficking, under AAP rule. Saini claimed Punjab is becoming a hub for criminals fleeing other states due to the perceived leniency of the Punjab government.
He specifically pointed to increased incidents of looting, dacoity, and snatches, attributing them to the alleged breakdown of law and order. Saini highlighted concerns about the resurgence of gangster culture and the open display of weapons, linking it to the state government’s handling of law enforcement. He accused the AAP government of being soft on criminals and allowing them to operate with impunity.
Saini further asserted that drug trafficking has increased significantly in Punjab, with the state becoming a major transit route for narcotics. He criticized the government’s efforts to combat the drug menace as inadequate and ineffective. He also raised concerns about the financial health of Punjab, alleging that the state government is struggling to manage its finances and is heavily reliant on central assistance.
The Chief Minister accused AAP of making false promises to the people of Punjab and failing to deliver on its commitments. He stated that the AAP government has prioritized populist schemes over essential governance and infrastructure development. Saini predicted a decline in Punjab’s economic and social fabric if the current trend continues. He contrasted this with Haryana’s progress, emphasizing the state’s focus on industrial development, infrastructure improvements, and maintaining law and order. He concluded by suggesting that the people of Punjab will realize the AAP government’s failures in the upcoming elections.
