Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Limited (APCPDCL) Chairman and Managing Director Haridranath Nayak reviewed power supply services and the progress of solar power projects in Krishna and NTR districts. The focus was on ensuring uninterrupted power during the upcoming summer months and accelerating the rollout of solar energy initiatives.
Key discussion points included maintaining system reliability, addressing consumer grievances, and completing pending works related to power infrastructure upgrades. Nayak directed officials to prioritize replacing damaged poles and transformers, and to proactively address low-voltage issues. He emphasized the importance of regular maintenance of distribution transformers and feeder lines to minimize disruptions.
Regarding solar power, the APCPDCL aims to establish 10,000 solar power connections for agricultural purposes under the YSR Surya Kiran scheme. Currently, 8,000 connections have been sanctioned, and 5,000 have been energized. Nayak instructed officials to expedite the energization of the remaining connections before the kharif season begins.
The review also covered the installation of solar power plants on government buildings. Progress on rooftop solar projects for government offices and residential complexes was assessed, with directions to complete them swiftly. The APCPDCL is also exploring the feasibility of establishing large-scale solar parks to enhance renewable energy capacity.
Nayak highlighted the need for effective communication with consumers regarding power supply schedules and any planned outages. He stressed the importance of prompt response to consumer complaints and the utilization of technology for efficient grievance redressal. The CMD also directed officials to conduct awareness campaigns on energy conservation measures to promote responsible electricity usage.
The review meeting was attended by Directors of APCPDCL and senior officials from Krishna and NTR districts. The focus remains on strengthening the power distribution network, expanding renewable energy sources, and ensuring reliable power supply to all consumers in the region.
