Telangana BIE keeps circular on 2026-27 admission schedule in abeyance

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has temporarily suspended its circular regarding the admission schedule for the 2026-27 academic year.

The circular, initially released on May 10, detailed a revised admission process aiming for completion by July 15th, significantly earlier than previous years. It proposed online applications from May 20th to June 15th, with a detailed schedule for phase-wise admissions based on SSC results.

This suspension follows concerns raised by private junior colleges regarding the early timeline and potential logistical challenges. College managements argued the schedule doesn’t align with the delayed announcement of SSC results and creates difficulties in student counseling and admission management. They requested a postponement to allow sufficient time for a smooth admission process.

Specifically, colleges highlighted issues with students awaiting supplementary exams and the need for adequate time to verify documents and finalize admissions after results are declared. They also expressed concerns about the feasibility of completing the process by July 15th, given potential delays in result processing and online portal functionality.

The BIE acknowledged these concerns and decided to keep the circular in abeyance until further notice. A revised schedule will be issued after considering the representations from private colleges and assessing the SSC result announcement date.

The decision aims to ensure a fair and efficient admission process for all students, addressing the practical difficulties faced by educational institutions. The BIE intends to consult with stakeholders before finalizing the new admission schedule, prioritizing a timeline that accommodates both the SSC result release and the needs of colleges and students. The focus remains on streamlining admissions while ensuring no student is disadvantaged due to the revised process.
