Select trains to be diverted via Alappuzha

Due to ongoing track doubling work between Ernakulam Junction and Kayankulam stations in Kerala, several trains will be diverted via the Alappuzha route from February 17 to March 31, 2024.

The Southern Railway has announced the diversions impacting both passenger and express train services. Trains normally traveling through Ernakulam Junction and Kayankulam will now pass through Alappuzha, adding approximately 20-30 minutes to their journey time.

Specifically, trains originating from or destined for Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, and Kayamkulam will be affected. Several trains including the 16631/32 Guruvayur-Punalur-Guruvayur Express, 16347/48 Kochuveli-Porbandar Express, 12647/48 Trivandrum-Nizamuddin Express, 12217/18 Trivandrum-Chandigarh Express, 16530/31 Guruvayur-Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express, and others are included in the diversion schedule.

Detailed lists specifying the affected trains and the exact diversion routes are available on the Southern Railway’s website and at railway stations. Passengers are advised to check the updated schedules before commencing their travel to avoid inconvenience.
