APSSDC partners with Japan’s FVCC to boost job opportunities for A.P. youth

The Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has partnered with the Fujitsu Vale Consulting Corporation (FVCC) of Japan to enhance skill development and job opportunities for the youth of Andhra Pradesh. This collaboration focuses on future-ready skills, particularly in emerging technologies.

The partnership aims to establish a ‘Centre of Excellence’ (CoE) in Visakhapatnam, dedicated to training youth in technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Data Science, and Cloud Computing. FVCC will provide curriculum development, training methodologies, and expert instructors, while APSSDC will handle infrastructure and student outreach.

The initial phase will train 300 candidates, with plans to scale up to train over 1,000 annually. The program prioritizes unemployed youth, focusing on those from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. A key aspect is guaranteed placement assistance, with FVCC leveraging its network to connect trained individuals with job opportunities in India and potentially Japan.

The program’s curriculum is designed to align with industry demands, ensuring graduates possess skills directly applicable to current and future job roles. It includes both theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience. The initiative is part of APSSDC’s broader strategy to improve employability and reduce unemployment in the state.

The partnership was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The state government views this collaboration as a significant step towards transforming Andhra Pradesh into a skill hub and attracting investment in the IT sector. FVCC’s expertise in digital transformation and talent development is expected to be instrumental in achieving these goals. The program will also focus on upskilling existing workforce to meet the evolving needs of the industry.
