Two open gyms were inaugurated in Karimnagar, Telangana, under the Fit India Vision initiative. The gyms are located at SR Nagar and Konda Pochamma Temple premises, aiming to promote health and fitness among residents.
Karimnagar Municipal Corporation (KMC) Mayor Yellanti Srinivas inaugurated the SR Nagar gym, while Corporator Musukula Ramachandra inaugurated the one at Konda Pochamma Temple. Both facilities are equipped with modern exercise equipment suitable for all age groups.
The KMC is actively establishing open gyms across the city as part of its commitment to public health. This initiative aims to provide accessible fitness options for citizens, encouraging them to adopt a healthier lifestyle without the cost of gym memberships. The project is funded through the State government’s Pattana Pragathi programme.
Officials highlighted the importance of physical activity for overall well-being and emphasized the role of these open gyms in fostering a culture of fitness within the community. The gyms are designed to be user-friendly and cater to a variety of fitness levels.
Local residents expressed enthusiasm about the new facilities, noting the convenience and accessibility they offer.
