Palaniswami extends greetings to incoming government in Tamil Nadu

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K. Palaniswami has extended his greetings to the incoming DMK government led by M.K. Stalin, acknowledging the election results and expressing hope for the state’s continued progress. He conveyed his wishes through a social media post, stating he hoped the new government would focus on the welfare of the people and the state’s development.

Palaniswami reflected on the AIADMK’s ten-year rule, highlighting the various schemes implemented during his tenure and that of J. Jayalalithaa. He emphasized the efforts made in areas like agriculture, water management, healthcare, and education, claiming significant achievements were made despite challenges like drought and the COVID-19 pandemic. He specifically mentioned the implementation of the Kudimaramathu scheme for water body restoration, the Jallikattu protection ordinance, and initiatives to improve the healthcare infrastructure.

He also pointed to the state’s economic growth and industrial development during the AIADMK government’s period, asserting that Tamil Nadu maintained its position as a leading state in India. Palaniswami expressed confidence that the state would continue to prosper under the new administration.

The post also served as a message to AIADMK party members and supporters, urging them to remain strong and work towards regaining the people’s trust in the future. He acknowledged the election outcome as a democratic decision and encouraged party workers to accept it gracefully.

Palaniswami’s statement signals a relatively smooth transition of power and a willingness to cooperate, despite the AIADMK’s defeat. He refrained from any critical remarks about the DMK and focused on highlighting the accomplishments of his government, positioning it as a foundation for future progress. The message aims to maintain party morale and prepare for future electoral battles.
