Sanjay Seth, Minister of State for Defence, visited Pangode Military Station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, on November 17, 2023. The visit aimed to assess the station’s operational readiness and infrastructure.
He was briefed by Brigadier Tony Jose, Commander of Pangode Military Station, on the station’s role in national security, its contributions to the region, and ongoing development projects. Seth inspected various facilities including accommodation for personnel, training areas, and logistical infrastructure. He specifically focused on the welfare of soldiers and their families stationed there.
The Minister acknowledged the station’s significant contribution to maintaining security in the region and expressed satisfaction with the high standards of training and operational preparedness. He also highlighted the importance of modernizing infrastructure to meet future challenges.
During the visit, Seth interacted with soldiers and their families, addressing their concerns and acknowledging their dedication to service. He emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting the armed forces and ensuring their well-being. Discussions included aspects of housing, healthcare, and educational opportunities for the families.
Pangode Military Station is a key installation for the Southern Command of the Indian Army, playing a vital role in defense preparedness along the Western Ghats. The station houses units responsible for various operational tasks and also provides support to civil authorities during natural disasters.
