Discussions focused on diversifying trade baskets and reducing non-tariff barriers.
Defense cooperation remains a cornerstone of the partnership. This builds upon existing military exercises and high-level exchanges. The leaders emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, stability, and adherence to international law in the Indo-Pacific region.
Cooperation in emerging technologies, including digital transformation, cybersecurity, and semiconductors, was also highlighted. India and Vietnam expressed interest in joint research and development initiatives and knowledge sharing in these critical areas.
The discussions covered a broad spectrum of areas, including energy security, maritime cooperation, and cultural exchange. Agreements were reached to enhance cooperation in areas like oil and gas exploration, renewable energy, and space technology.
