YSRCP calls for vigilance on SIR

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has expressed concerns regarding potential attempts to manipulate data related to the Polavaram Irrigation Project’s Right Canal to falsely portray the project as failing under the current Andhra Pradesh government. YSRCP General Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy alleged a deliberate campaign by opposition parties, particularly the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), to create a negative narrative around the project.

The core of the issue revolves around the flow of water through the Right Canal, designed to irrigate approximately 3 lakh acres in the Krishna delta. The YSRCP claims that opposition parties are spreading misinformation about insufficient water flow, aiming to suggest the project is not delivering expected benefits. They accuse the TDP of attempting to fabricate data showing low water levels to criticize the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.

Mr. Reddy stated that the government is closely monitoring the situation and has instructed officials to maintain complete transparency regarding water levels and irrigation patterns. He emphasized that the project is progressing as planned and that the initial stages of irrigation are underway, with full-scale irrigation expected to commence shortly.

The YSRCP has called for vigilance from party members and officials to counter the alleged disinformation campaign. They are urging a proactive approach to disseminate accurate information to the public and highlight the progress made on the Polavaram project. The party believes that the TDP is motivated by political opportunism and is attempting to undermine a crucial infrastructure project for the state.

Furthermore, the YSRCP highlighted the government’s commitment to completing the Polavaram project and ensuring its benefits reach the intended beneficiaries. They asserted that the project is a priority for the state government and that all necessary steps are being taken to expedite its completion and maximize its impact on agriculture and the economy. The party warned against attempts to politicize the project and assured the public that the government will not allow any distortion of facts.
