Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin received a large and enthusiastic welcome in his Kolathur constituency during his first public appearance there since becoming Chief Minister. The event marked the completion of three years of DMK rule in Tamil Nadu.
Thousands of supporters gathered along the route from the Chennai airport to Kolathur, displaying banners, flags, and cutouts of Stalin. The reception was organized by the Chennai North District DMK.
Stalin addressed the crowd, highlighting the achievements of his government over the past three years. He emphasized the fulfillment of election promises, including the ‘Kallakkuppam’ drinking water project for Kolathur, which has been completed at a cost of ₹80 crore.
He listed key initiatives such as the ‘Mudalmagan’ scheme providing financial assistance to young entrepreneurs, the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ scheme focused on skill development, and the increase in social security pensions. He also mentioned the government’s efforts in improving healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
Stalin asserted that Tamil Nadu is now a leading state in India due to the effective implementation of welfare schemes and policies. He criticized the previous AIADMK government, alleging corruption and mismanagement.
He urged party workers to continue their efforts to ensure the DMK’s victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, emphasizing the importance of defeating the BJP at the national level. He positioned the election as a fight to protect Tamil Nadu’s rights and autonomy.
Several DMK leaders and ministers accompanied Stalin, including K. Ponmudi, E.V. Velu, and Ma Subramanian. The event showcased the DMK’s strong grassroots support in the Kolathur constituency, a traditional stronghold for the party and Stalin himself. The atmosphere was celebratory, with supporters expressing their confidence in Stalin’s leadership and the DMK’s continued success.
