Renowned Telugu film producer R.B. Choudary passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 84 due to a heart attack in Chennai. He was the founder of Super Good Films, a prominent banner in the Telugu film industry.
Choudary produced over 50 films, launching the careers of several prominent actors including Chiranjeevi with the film *Khaidi* (1981), and also provided opportunities to actors like Vijayashanti, Rajasekhar, and others. *Khaidi* was a major breakthrough in Telugu cinema and established Chiranjeevi as a leading star.
He was known for making family-oriented films and introducing new technologies to Telugu filmmaking. Super Good Films also distributed several successful films.
Numerous political leaders and film personalities expressed their condolences upon hearing of his death. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised Choudary’s contributions to the Telugu film industry and his support for new talent. He highlighted *Khaidi* as a landmark film.
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu conveyed his deepest sympathies to the bereaved family. YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Y.S. Sharmila also expressed her grief.
Film stars like Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh Daggubati, and others took to social media to mourn his passing and remember his kindness and support. Chiranjeevi specifically acknowledged Choudary’s pivotal role in his career, stating he wouldn’t have reached his current position without Choudary’s faith in him.
Choudary is survived by his son, film producer Allu Aravind, and other family members. His funeral was held in Chennai, and his death marks a significant loss for the Telugu film industry. He is remembered as a visionary producer and a generous benefactor to many in the industry.
