ITP Aero breaks ground for new ₹453-crore facility in Shamshabad

ITP Aero India, a leading aerospace engine component manufacturer, has commenced construction of a new ₹453 crore facility in the Aerospace and Defence Park in Shamshabad, Hyderabad. The facility will focus on manufacturing and repair of complex rotating components for aircraft engines.

The new plant, spanning 18.8 acres, represents a significant expansion of ITP Aero’s presence in India and is expected to generate over 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. It will cater to both civil and defence sectors, supporting the growing demand for aerospace components globally.

The facility will house advanced manufacturing technologies including machining, coating, and non-destructive testing. It aims to enhance ITP Aero’s capabilities in producing critical engine parts like turbine discs and blades. The company anticipates the facility will be fully operational by early 2025.

This investment underscores Telangana’s growing prominence as a hub for aerospace and defence manufacturing. The state government has been actively promoting the sector through policy support and infrastructure development.

ITP Aero India is a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce, and this new facility will strengthen the partnership between the two companies. The project is expected to contribute significantly to the ‘Make in India’ initiative by boosting domestic manufacturing and reducing reliance on imports.

The ground-breaking ceremony was attended by senior officials from ITP Aero, Rolls-Royce, and the Telangana government, including IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. The company currently operates a manufacturing facility in Bangalore and an engineering center in Hyderabad, and this new plant will complement their existing operations. The facility is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating environmentally friendly practices.
