For students’ safety: CBSE orders schools to install CCTVs in classes, playgrounds

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced updated safety guidelines requiring all affiliated schools to install high-resolution CCTV cameras with audiovisual recording. Coverage must include classrooms and all common areas, excluding toilets and washrooms. Footage must be stored for at least 15 days and made available to authorities when needed. The directive aligns with NCPCR’s safety manual and aims to ensure a secure and supportive environment for all students and staff within school premises.
