New FASTag Annual Pass Launching August 15 for Private Cars

Starting this Independence Day, the government is set to roll out a new FASTag pass meant for private, non commercial vehicles. Announced by Nitin Gadkari, the pass will cost ₹3,000 and allow up to 200 highway trips—or stay valid for a year from activation, whichever happens first. The idea is to ease travel for frequent drivers by cutting down toll booth stops and cash payments. It’s aimed mainly at daily office commuters and folks who often travel between cities. Gadkari also mentioned this move could help reduce logistic costs and keep traffic moving more smoothly.
