## Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Results 2024 – Summary
The DMK-led alliance has secured a significant victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, winning 138 seats. The DMK itself won 112 seats. Key alliance partners also performed well: Communist Party of India (Marxist) – 9 seats, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) – 6 seats, Communist Party of India – 2 seats, and others contributing the remaining seats.
The AIADMK-led alliance managed to win 75 seats. The AIADMK secured 60 seats, while the BJP won 8 seats. Other partners in the alliance garnered the remaining seats.
The AMMK (Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam) failed to win any seats. The TVK (Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi) also did not secure any seats.
Notable individual results include several DMK and AIADMK ministers retaining their seats. However, some prominent AIADMK leaders faced defeat.
The election witnessed a high voter turnout, with over 70% of eligible voters exercising their franchise. The DMK’s victory is attributed to its focus on social justice, welfare schemes, and effective campaign strategy. The AIADMK’s performance was impacted by internal divisions and anti-incumbency factors.
The results indicate a clear mandate for the DMK-led government, paving the way for MK Stalin to continue as Chief Minister. The BJP’s limited gains suggest its struggle to make significant inroads in Tamil Nadu politics. The VCK’s consistent performance reinforces its position as a key player in the state’s political landscape. The defeat of the AMMK and TVK highlights their limited electoral influence.
