## Tamil Nadu Assembly Election Results 2024 – Summary
The DMK-led alliance has secured a significant victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, winning 138 seats. The DMK itself won 112 seats. Key alliance partners also performed well: Communist Party of India (Marxist) – 9 seats, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) – 6 seats, Communist Party of India – 2 seats, and others contributing the remaining seats.
The AIADMK-led alliance managed to win 75 seats. The AIADMK secured 60 seats, while the BJP won 8 seats. Other partners in the alliance garnered the remaining seats.
The AMMK (Amma Makkal Munnet Kazhagam) failed to win any seats. The TVK (Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi) also did not secure any seats.
Notable individual results include several DMK and AIADMK ministers retaining their seats. However, some prominent AIADMK figures faced defeat.
The election witnessed a high voter turnout, with over 70% of eligible voters exercising their franchise. The DMK’s victory is attributed to factors like strong anti-incumbency against the previous AIADMK government, effective campaign strategies focusing on social justice and welfare schemes, and a consolidated alliance.
The AIADMK’s performance was hampered by internal divisions and a perceived lack of strong leadership. The BJP’s gains were limited, despite a significant campaign effort.
The DMK is poised to form the next government in Tamil Nadu, with MK Stalin expected to continue as Chief Minister. The new government is likely to prioritize implementing its election promises, focusing on social welfare, economic development, and addressing issues related to farmers and marginalized communities. The results indicate a clear mandate for the DMK-led alliance and a rejection of the AIADMK-BJP combine.
