A 500-bed multi-speciality hospital will be established in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, through a partnership between Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) and the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA). KIMS has signed a 99-year lease agreement with APCRDA for a 10-acre plot in the Uddandarayunipalem area of Amaravati.
The project involves a total investment of approximately ₹1,200 crore. KIMS will pay an annual lease rent of ₹1.33 crore to the APCRDA, escalating by 3% every three years. The hospital is envisioned to provide comprehensive healthcare services, catering to the needs of the growing population in the region and reducing the burden on healthcare facilities in nearby cities like Vijayawada and Guntur.
Construction is expected to begin within six months, with the hospital anticipated to be operational within 24-36 months. The facility will include advanced medical infrastructure and a wide range of specialities.
The project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly, in the Amaravati region. The APCRDA views this as a crucial step in developing Amaravati as a comprehensive healthcare destination and boosting the overall development of the capital city.
The land allocated is part of the larger plan to develop a healthcare hub in Amaravati. This initiative aligns with the state government’s focus on improving healthcare infrastructure and accessibility for its citizens. KIMS already operates several healthcare facilities across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and this new hospital will further expand its presence in the region. The agreement was signed in the presence of key officials from both KIMS and APCRDA, signifying a strong commitment to the project’s successful implementation.
