Renowned Telugu film producer R.B. Choudary passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 84 due to a heart attack in Chennai. He was the founder of Super Good Films, a prominent banner in the Telugu film industry.
Choudary produced over 50 films, launching the careers of several prominent actors including Chiranjeevi, Vijayashanti, and Rajasekhar. His notable productions include *Ranarangam*, *Jaganmohini*, *Donga*, *Khaidi*, and *Maa Alludu Very Manchu*. He was particularly known for identifying and nurturing new talent.
His son, R.B. Srikanth, is also a film producer and continues to run Super Good Films. The family also owns the popular Super Good Theatre chain in Chennai.
Numerous political leaders and film personalities expressed their condolences. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu praised Choudary’s contributions to the Telugu film industry and his support for aspiring actors. He highlighted Choudary’s role in providing opportunities to many and his philanthropic activities.
Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy also conveyed his grief, recognizing Choudary’s significant impact on Telugu cinema. Several actors, including Chiranjeevi, expressed their deep sorrow and remembered Choudary as a guiding force and a generous benefactor. They acknowledged his belief in their potential during their early careers.
The film industry mourns the loss of a veteran producer who played a crucial role in shaping its landscape and fostering talent.
