Outpatient services set to launch at Piduguralla Hospital on May 20

Outpatient services will commence at the newly constructed 100-bed hospital in Piduguralla, Palnadu district, Andhra Pradesh on May 20th. The hospital, built at a cost of ₹50 crore, aims to provide healthcare access to residents of Piduguralla and surrounding mandals, reducing the need to travel to Guntur or Vijayawada for medical attention.

The hospital features departments including general medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and orthopaedics. Diagnostic facilities like an X-ray unit and clinical laboratory are also established. Further, a modern Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with six beds is available.

Initially, services will be offered by a team of doctors and medical staff transferred from the area hospital in Macherla. Recruitment for additional staff is underway to ensure comprehensive coverage. The hospital is equipped to handle emergency cases and will operate 24/7.

Local MLA and Government Whip Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary stated the hospital’s launch fulfills a long-pending demand of the local population. He highlighted the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure in the region. The hospital is expected to significantly improve healthcare accessibility and quality for approximately 50,000 residents in Piduguralla and its surrounding areas.

The construction was completed within a year, and the hospital is designed to meet modern medical standards. Authorities are focused on ensuring a smooth launch and efficient operation of all departments. The hospital aims to alleviate the burden on existing healthcare facilities in nearby cities and provide timely medical assistance to the local community. Plans for future expansion and the addition of specialized services are also being considered based on public need and available resources.
