Vijay, the Tamil film star, has been announced as the chief ministerial candidate for his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections. TVK, launched in February 2024, aims to bring fundamental political change. Vijay plans a state-wide tour from September to December to strengthen the party’s base.
